Highlights on the first fuel cell bus line & bus infrastructure in France

Last Friday, the first fuel cell bus was inaugurated by the transport authority in the area: the Artois-Gohelle transport authority (SMT-AG) in the presence of Xavier Bertrand, president of the Region Hauts-de-France. This bus is the first one of a fleet of six fuel cell buses, which will be used on the new Bus Rapid Transit Service (BRT) bus line “Bulle 6” between les towns of Auchel and Bruay-la-Buissière

Solaris Urbino – fuel cell version showcased at UITP summit – First customer, Bolzano, a JIVE partner!

There is a lot going on in the hydrogen world! Solaris presented the Solaris Urbino 12 fuel cell bus, at the UITP summit in Stockholm yesterday (10/06/2019).

The JIVE/ASSURED user group partners witnessed this World Premiere with a dedicated visit paid to Solaris booth.

First pictures of the fuel cell bus in Cologne region unveiled

Yesterday at the UITP summit (10/6/2019), the keys of the new Van Hool fuel cell bus were handed over by bus OEM Jan Van Hool to Jens Conrad from Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK).  

This bus is one the 30 buses ordered by RVK last year, along with 10 buses for Wuppertal. The buses will gradually enter in service this autumn.

1000 Fuel Cell Buses in Europe – Biggest deployment to date

Everfuel, Wrightbus, Ballard Power Systems, Hexagon Composites, Nel Hydrogen and Ryse Hydrogen, are joining forces to form the H2Bus Consortium. This consortium aims to achieve the biggest deployment of hydrogen fuel cell buses in Europe to date: 1000 buses, along with supporting infrastructure, in European cities at commercially competitive rates.

Energy Oil & Gas magazine interviews CEO of Arcola Energy

The latest issue of the Energy Oil & Gas magazine features an interview with the founder and CEO of Arcola Energy, Dr. Ben Todd. Todd advocates passionately for the wider deployment of clean technologies and zero emission technologies in particular. Arcola Energy has been running fuel cells since the installation of their first system in 2007 and is part of the Liverpool project which will deploy 25 fuel cell buses in Liverpool. These buses are expected to enter into service in 2020.  

11 hydrogen mobility projects in France selected for public funding

11 hydrogen mobility projects have been selected by The Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition and the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (Ademe) making the projects eligible for public financial support.
France launched this call for projects in “Hydrogen mobility ecosystems” last October. The Ministry and Ademe comment in a statement about the call that it is “a real success” and shows “an unprecedented interest in the deployment of hydrogen”.

Arcola Energy opens new facility for manufacturing, installation and maintenance of zero emission buses

Arcola Energy will open a new manufacturing, installation and maintenance facility in the Liverpool City Region.

This new facility will have the capability to build, install and service hundreds of zero-emission vehicle powertrain systems in the first year of operation. A press release issued by Arcola Energy states that in recognition of the rapid ongoing expansion in both the battery and hydrogen vehicle market sufficient space has been acquired to quickly expand to thousands of systems per year. 

Delegation of 18 European Embassies and Chambers of Commerce travelled by hydrogen bus

On March 26, Green Visits arranged a tour for Embassies and Chambers of Commerce in Oslo, Norway. 18 European nations participated in the demonstration tour that gave insight into sustainable and innovative solutions in Norway. During the tour the delegation was transported with a Van Hool hydrogen bus from the Norwegian operator Ruter, who is also a partner in the JIVE 2 project.
