CaetanoBus will deliver two hydrogen H2.City Gold buses in Germany later this year

Two Caetano H2.City Gold hydrogen-powered buses will be put into service in Germany later this year as part of the eFarm project. The hydrogen bus was unveiled at Busworld 2019 in Brussels. It was then announced that 2020 would be the year in which the H2.City Gold, based on Toyota's fuel cell technology, would be launched in Europe. The vehicle has a range of 400 km, according to the manufacturer.

The first Fuel Cell Buses in operation in Denmark!

On 10 March 2020, the Region of North Denmark and the Municipality of Aalborg proudly announced the operation of the very first Fuel Cell Bus in Denmark. The bus was quickly followed by the next two fuel cell buses that started their operation the 16th of March.

The three fuel cell buses - co financed by the 3Emotion project - are from the Belgian bus manufacturer, Van Hool, their new model A330. They are all equipped with fuel cells from the company Ballard which is part of the cluster organization, Hydrogen Valley, in Denmark.

RVKS orders 15 Solaris fuel cell buses

Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) has just placed an order for 15 hydrogen-powered fuel cell hybrid buses with Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. From 2021, these vehicles will be successively integrated into RVK's fleet.

The buses will be purchased as part of the EU project JIVE 2 and will be funded by the "Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking" (FCH JU), the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) via the NIP2 programme and the Ministry of Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Wuppertal's first fuel cell bus is in town

The first fuel cell bus has arrived in Wuppertal! This is the first of a fleet of 10 Van Hool buses, all fleet will progressively arrived by February. Ths hydrogen refuelling station is being built in parallel. Hydrogen will be produced via electrolyser with electricity produced from the waste incineration plant. This is the first "Waste-to-Energy" project producing hydrogen that will be used in public trnasport. No doubt that this example will inspire other cities across Europe.
